Why Choose us
REAL Health & Nutrition is a Dietitian service in Eltham, Melbourne, specialising in personalised Sports performance nutrition for healthspan, chronic disease prevention, and sport performance.
Our consultations with Clinical Dietician Melbourne are designed to provide a clear and easy to follow strategy that fits into your life.
Empowering clients with realistic and sustainable strategies, we offer evidence-based guidance tailored to individual needs.

It’s too common where we see varying practitioners providing unrealistic demands in order to improve health.
We offer realistic and achievable health strategies that are meant to easily fit into your life and not flip it upside down.
We don’t promise miracles.
What we do is make the hard parts of health easy.
Our number one goal is your number one goal.
One of the key elements we feel is missing from our current healthcare system is the prioritisation of what you, the client, wants to achieve.
In our consultations, we quickly establish strong goals that we, as Dietitians, tailor our service and recommendations to.
If you’re looking for a short-term quick fix that eventually gets you back to square one, we are not the service for you.
Our REAL Dietitians work on a long-term oriented approach, working towards your health outcomes in a realistic, achievable and long-term oriented approach.
There is a time and a place for short-term wins, and we may speed things up as appropriate; however, always with a long-term focus.
No two people are the same, and thus, each person’s health journey must be unique and personalised.
There are no cookie-cutter approaches that work in healthcare. Whether you’ve previously followed a copy and paste “meal plan” or trying to find the “perfect diet everyone should be on”, we aim to learn about the good, the bad, what did and didn’t work about your past experiences.
Your experience is then tailored towards a health and nutrition strategy that works specifically for you and your circumstances
Realistic strategies for longevity
At REAL, we provide cutting-edge Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and healthcare and education.
Servicing Eltham, Greensborough and surrounds through qualified Dietitians and Nutritionists, we strive to deliver high quality nutrition and health services. We have an appreciation for maintaining a balance that meets your needs and goals without sacrificing life’s pleasures.
Our strategies include realistic recommendations and achievable goals that don’t flip your life upside down.
We aim to collaboratively work with you to find a path that balances your life and your goals with a focus on the long-term maintenance of health and performance. We also offer corporate wellness program.
Our job is to make health easy.

Simple, practical advice and the latest updates on nutrition, health, and wellness.

REAL Dietitians work alongside you to reach your health and performance goals.
This usually consists of a first consultation where we will aim to learn more about you, establish strong clear goals to work towards to then develop a strategy that fits into your life.
We aim for you to leave the consultation feeling more confident, having reduced stress and a clear plan of attack of how to achieve your health goals.
Our goal is to make achieving good health easy!
A Dietitian can help and provide support in many areas, primarily focused on food and nutrition.
They include but are not limited to:
– Diabetes (1, 2 & gestational)
– Longevity & Health span nutrition
– Weight management (gain and loss)
– Cholesterol, LDL, HDL and blood pressure
– IBS, IBD and gastrointestinal dysfunctions
– Blood test analysis and interpretation
– Chronic disease & organ management (Heart failure, kidneys, neurological, pancreatic, liver, respiratory & more)
– Osteoporosis, Elderly, and aged care assistance
– Nutrition deficiency screening and correction
– PCOS, Endometriosis, Hormones & Menopause
– Sport performance & body composition
– Disability and developmental delay
& more conditions, with further information can be found on our services page.
Most of our Dietitians have special interests, for example, Matthew has a passion for healthspan and longevity, while Max has a history and is actively involved in bodybuilding.
Meal plans can be double-edged sword.
Most often we do not recommend meal plans, they may not be what you actually need.
We ensure our nutrition plans are high quality, satisfying, personalised and nutritionally sufficient with both macro and micronutrients being accounted for, they come at an additional cost.
Meal plans can be useful in certain circumstances, but like all tools, it’s probably not a good idea to start the equivalent of cutting a piece of paper with a chainsaw if all we need are some scissors.
If you want to see what your baseline targets look like right now, you can try our free Calorie Calculator.
As much as we try to fight the stereotype, Dietitians absolutely help with weight loss. Weight loss makes up ~20% of our clientele at the time of writing, and we commonly support people with this goal.
A REAL Dietitian can help with identifying what has and has not worked for you in the past and tailor a specific strategy to fit into your life (without flipping it upside down). We focus on the highest return on health outcomes with the smallest mental load investment choices first.
We don’t promise miracles. What we focus on is making the hard parts of health easy
At REAL, we view Ozempic/Mounjaro/ Weygovy and other GLP-1 agonists as a tool that has pros and cons depending on the individual.
The current evidence states that people use these drugs on average for only 1 year.
We worry when they are prescribed without dietary and activity support, as they can have similar outcomes as just another yoyo or fad diet with evidence now supporting that there is long-term metabolic damage that can occur after excessive yoyo-ing with weight (potentially reducing your metabolism).
We view these drugs as a tool that are not often used to their fullest potential and that you can often get much more out of your health with a combination approach.
No, anyone can see a Dietitian, with or without a referral
However, with a GP Dr referral (EPC/CDM/TCA) you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate (up to 5 per year), which can dramatically reduce the costs of your consultation
Additional rebates and support may be available from DVA, NDIS, WorkSafe and private health insurance with additional information on our pricing page
Dietitians can range in costs. Some Dietitians bulk bill, while some charge well above $400 per consultation. Bulk bill consultations are often limited to only 20 minutes long and often do not include any communication follow-up.
At REAL, we set our fees as affordable and as high value per dollar spent as possible at 45min initials and 30min reviews, both with email follow-ups and a personally tailored nutrition strategy.
Our great prices are due to our dedication to not having cost as a barrier to great healthcare, thus, we lower our profit margin and pass on the savings to you!
Further information on cost, eligibility and rebates can be found via our pricing page.
Yes, most health insurance companies have extras for Dietetics/ Dietitian services. If you have private health insurance, the easiest and fastest way we have found that works for our clients is a self-claim, which we are more than happy to assist with.
